Too Much Going On!

How do you do it?-----I'm retired, pretty much home bound and even more so when the snow starts.  I have no kids to worry about and no job to go to, so I have few physical demands outside.  Even with those few restrictions I cannot keep up with whats going on!

HOW DO YOU DO IT?  You Can't!  Your supposed to take care of your kids, be involved in their schools, know who their associating with, what they do on tech devices, and on and on.  You Can't!

How about Politics, local Government, Work related activities, sleep at least 8 hours, vacation, take care of your living quarters, eat correctly and slowly chew your food, and on and on.

You Can't!   And don't forget, also invest  to prepare for your retirement. Oh and spend the time to stay happily married.

Good luck to you and yours, I'm out of the game now. I hope you can stave off central planning by the Gov't but I rather doubt it.  It is just to easy to give up your freedoms to someone else and not have to take care of yourself. That eventually leads to an ultimate leader, know matter what it is called - supreme leader, king, her majesty, Big Brother etc..

Please do not give up easily, if it leads to revolution, so be it.  Man is meant by nature to be free!

Now putting away my soapbox.

Looking Poorly for Romney

IS ROMNEY IN TROUBLE?

Heard today that Laura Ingraham and Sarah Palin agree that if the Republican Party cannot beat Obama when the Economy is in the toilet.  That maybe it is time to disband the Party and start over with a whole new Group. Lets face it unemployment is really over 11%, debt is above $16 Trillion and we are spending more $$ than we take in.  If the Republicans cannot get the word out that this is a bad thing and how it can really bring down the country, than I'm afraid their hopeless.

It is time to get out the word that the democrats plan is simply Socialism, there certainly appears to be a movement to change over from a Capitalist system to socialism.  What does that mean. Think about it.  Take a little time and imagine what this country looks like under a central planning Government.

I'll come back later with some ideas of what that might look like .

OPTIMISM IS CONTAGIOUS

That Shining City on a Hill. A Thousand Points of Light. These are just a couple of the many sayings that describe the optimism of the people of the United States of America. This country has always been populated by optimists.  Last night, and for the past couple of evenings I've had a chance to listen to the Republican National Convention and one after another the speakers all spoke of uplifting ideas and wishes for this nation.  It was quite inspiring.  Optimism is contagious!

I was a baby during World War II, the people that fought that war were optimistic and felt, first that they could win the war and second that by winning they would leave the World a better place.  Well, they won and the world is, arguably, a much better place of the families of the countries of the world.  Many, now have some form of democracy and freedom. It isn't perfect but as the saying goes, 'don't let perfect get in the way of something good'. Besides it's still a work in progress.

At the end of the war the world had change and this country had changed. "How do you keep them down on the farm after they've seen Paree"  Well many had seen 'Paree' and other points all around the globe.  The women had held together the home front and learned that they could accomplish most anything they set there minds to and the men learned they to could overcome whatever obstacles came before them.  All it took was a little education, application of hard work and the optimism that they could make it work. They studied, they applied, and they stayed optimistic and "VIOLA!" they succeeded!

Oh, since those halcyon days we got off the track some and started thinking maybe the job was too big or too complex or maybe we should just let someone else do it .  Well it was refreshing for an old Guy to see that the young of today can still believe that maybe we are not ready to be dropped onto the trash heap as some would have it.

Freedom is essential to mankind and American exceptionalism is based on a contagion of OPTIMISM!

Well the great Communicator Has Spoken!

Bill Clinton is truly a Spilbinder

This is the same guy that looked the world in the eye, under oath, and said, I did not have sexual relations with that woman."  He couldn't sell that either but a lot of people believed him. Even after the DNA proved him wrong.

Well if he can sell another another term for OHB than it will be Hillary's turn.  Now that is a frightening picture.  The fact checkers will have a busy time trying to separate wheat from the chaff but for a guy that appreciates a real salesman at the apex of his craft.  I really loved the show.  Like many great orators and egos he stayed too long at the fair and began losing his audience for the final third of his speech.

It made me imagine what Henry Clay or Churchill or some of the great Greek Orators of the past must have been like.

Looks like Ryan may make it a HorseRace

Paul Ryan is very bright and dedicated public servant that actually wants to do what he thinks is best for the country.  That is something very unusual in this day and age.  When you've lived this long it is hard to be open and not cynical, but maybe there is still hope for this country.  Providing that the people can look ahead and get their heads out of their anal cavities.

I cannot understand how this country went from a logical productive people to a emotional, dependent, whining bunch that thinks the world owes them a living and it is COOL to game the system.  Instead of trying to excel they seem to spend more effort looking for an angle than just doing the job.

Maybe, just maybe, a team like Romney/Ryan can instill a little pride into this generation and get the U.S. back on track.

For the good of our grandchildren.  Lets Hope-------jimK
